The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold its official meeting tonight at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad.

The purpose of this conference is to locate the crescent moon of Shawwal 1444 AH, which will determine when Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will be observed throughout the country.

The Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also hold meetings at their respective offices. Following that, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, would give the final declaration regarding the moon sighting.

However, the Ruet-i-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) stated earlier this month that Eid-ul-Fitr will most likely be celebrated on Saturday, 22 April, explaining that while the committees will meet on the evening of April 20 (tonight), the chances of seeing the moon are slim.
