Azam Khan breaks the T20 record and outperforms Rizwan with an outstanding performance.
In the current eighth season of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL), Azam Khan, the wicket-keeper batter for Islamabad United, once again shown his power-hitting abilities for his club.
Azam was instrumental in helping his club go to the playoffs in their seventh game against the Quetta Gladiators by scoring 35 runs off of 25 balls, including two boundaries and two sixes.
The powerful batsman has also eclipsed Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan in terms of the number of sixes hit by Pakistani batters in T20 cricket since the year 2020 began.
The wicket-keeper hitter added two more sixes in his most recent game, bringing his total to 139 in 100 T20 innings. In comparison, Mohammad Rizwan has 137 sixes in 124 innings since 2020.
In addition, veteran Karachi Kings batter Shoaib Malik has 107 sixes in 125 innings, and middle-order Gladiators player Iftikhar Ahmed has smashed 111 sixes in 111 innings.
