Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said on Monday that the Malir Development Authority (MDA) will construct a new low-cost housing society. He emphasised the need of public housing for individuals with less resources and contended that MDA should serve as a community resource.
At a meeting of the MDA’s governing council, which he presided over, he also mentioned Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s goal of providing aid and facilities to the people of Sindh.
The minister urged MDA workers to follow new Board of Revenue (BoR) standards and to work to increase remuneration for MDA’s daily-wage employees in accordance with provincial government policy.
Because renting machinery wastes both time and money, MDA is considering purchasing necessary machinery and equipment to clear encroachments.
Before developing new home designs under MDA, all revenue board legal criteria must be met, and all authorities’ lands must be transferred to Form Two.
When all legal requirements were met, the minister proposed cancelling the plots of persons who had paid less than half of their purchase price. Advertisements about the defaulters will appear in major newspapers.
