Imdadullah Bosal was hired by the federal government on Wednesday to serve as the Special Secretary of Finance.

A notification in this regard states, “Imdadullah Bosal, a BS-22 officer of PAS, is transferred and posted a special Secretary Finance division on the newly created post with immediate effect and until further orders.” Bosal is currently serving as OSD in the Establishment Division.

He had previously served as the chief secretary for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but later, at his own request, the government instructed him to report to the Establishment Division.

Bosal continued to serve as the Additional Secretary for Finance during Imran Khan’s administration, but Shehbaz Sharif is thought of as being very close to him.

He earned his master’s degree in political economy of development from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Additionally, he has a master’s degree in public policy from Oxford University. According to sources, the government is also thinking about promoting him to finance secretary.
