There is a possibility that the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in Pakistan would be prolonged, as reported by a national daily.

It is anticipated that the decision regarding the extension will be made soon. If authorised, the extra days off will be taken from April 20 through April 25 (Thursday through Tuesday).

The federal government had released the Eid holiday schedule earlier this week. From Friday, April 21 through Tuesday, April 25, there will be holidays.

The KP government made its Eid holiday schedule announcement after the federal government. From Friday, April 21 through Wednesday, April 26, the province will be closed for the Eid holidays.

KP’s statement was followed by Punjab’s announcement of their Eid holiday timetable. From April 21 to April 25 (Friday to Tuesday), the province will adopt the same Eid schedule as the federal government.

To sight the crescent of Shawaal, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has called its monthly meeting. The meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, April 20, 29 Ramadan. On the same day, zonal committee meetings will also be held in the allocated zones.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony building in Islamabad will host the main gathering. Molana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the session’s chairman, will take the chair.
