To honour Youm-e-Ali, the Sindh government has declared April 12 (Wednesday) a holiday for all schools, colleges, and institutions. In this context, the education department also released the following notification:

All public and private educational institutions under the administrative jurisdiction of the College Education Department must stay closed on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 due to Youm-e-Ali, per the resolution of the Steering Committee meeting held on February 22, 2022. (21st Ramzan, 1444).

The entire country will observe Youm-e-Ali, or the anniversary of Hazrat Ali’s (RA) martyrdom, on April 12. On the 21st of Ramadan, Youm-e-Ali is observed, and numerous parades are performed all over the country to remember Hazrat Ali’s martyrdom. (RA).

To commemorate Hazrat Ali’s (RA) life and memory, people from Sindh in particular organise sizable gatherings and processions on the designated day. On the mentioned day, heavy traffic is common due to the big number of people on the roadways.

In order to successfully maintain peace and order and to help citizens avoid any inconvenience, the government has declared the specified vacation.
