Punjab will modernise its tendering and bidding processes.

Ibrahim Hassan Murad, the Punjab Minister for Local Government and Community Development (LGCD), disclosed plans to completely digitise the division in order to make it a model division.

To guarantee transparency, e-bidding and e-tendering mechanisms will be set up across the province, and services and payments will be computerised.

To improve the department’s service delivery, the LG department and the Bank of Punjab have partnered.

To prevent fraud and cheating, paper receipts will also be eliminated, and payments would instead be made using smartphone apps from the comfort of people’s homes.

The department’s ultimate goal is to provide services to customers in their homes, and technology will be leveraged to make this possible for the residents of Punjab.
