Police in Islamabad have started a new campaign against tinted windows.

A new raid against vehicles with tinted windows has been launched by the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) in response to an increase in the number of such vehicles.

According to an official tweet, Inspector General (IG) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan gave special orders for the operation to be restarted. It also adds:

Tinted glasses can make it simpler for criminals to conceal their identities and activities inside the automobile, which raises the risk of terrorism, auto theft, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.

The public has been urged by the department to abstain from having their vehicle windows tinted and to remove any dark tints right away. Strict judicial action will be taken against those who disobey as part of the crackdown.

A group of thieves who were allegedly responsible for several vehicle thefts were detained earlier today by the Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of the ICTP.

The department has recovered five cars and two bikes valued millions of rupees, the update says. To learn more about the other thefts and street crimes in Islamabad, the perpetrators are presently being questioned further.
