A recent circular from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) outlines the operating hours during the holy month of Ramadan. According to the PIA’s notification, business hours on Monday through Friday during the fasting month will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
For Zuhr prayer, PIA offices will close each day on Monday through Thursday at 1:30 p.m. According to this, there will be a break for Friday prayers from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
These times have been set up to give PIA employees enough time to fulfil their religious obligations while still being able to do their jobs well.
In related news, this week saw the publication of a circular by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) addressing bank hours during Ramadan.
The State Bank of Pakistan’s office hours have been set by the central bank’s Banking Policy & Regulations Department as 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with a prayer break from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be no breaks during the regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fridays.
These times will automatically restore to pre-Ramadan times after Ramadan-ul-Mubarak has ended.
