Officially Announced: Balloting Date for Government Hajj Program

In numerous designated banks across Pakistan, the Hajj application process is already under way. The Hajj application voting is scheduled on April 5th, Wednesday.

The government has authorised 14 banks to receive applications for the Hajj under its programme. They are the following: Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah, Habib Metro Bank, Soneri Bank, Faysal Bank, Askari Bank, and Bank Al-Habib. There are also the following: HBL, UBL, NBP, MCB, Allied Bank, ZTBL, and BoP.

During the holy month of Ramadan, banks will be open from 9 AM to 2 PM every day, with the exception of Fridays, when they will be open from 8:30 AM to 1 PM.

The government program’s deadline for collecting Hajj applications is this Friday, March 31. The 14 banks will also be open on March 25th, a Saturday, and March 26th, a Sunday, to help with the procedure.

This year, a package walk of Rs. 350,000 announced by the Religious Affairs Minister resulted in a considerable increase in the cost of the annual Hajj journey. Due to this, Pakistan’s official Hajj expenses have increased to almost Rs. 1.175 million, a significant increase over the cost of Rs. 826,000 last year.

The increase in costs can be linked to rising food and hotel costs, as well as general inflation.
