While driving for an online cab service, a subordinate officer with a national security agency is accused of harassing a female passenger. Police in Toba Tek Singh have filed a case against him.

The accused driver picked up the complainant, a software engineer, from the Punjab Cooperative Housing Society (PCHS) in Lahore after the complainant had booked a taxi through the online service to travel from Lahore to Multan.

The driver allegedly urged her to drive the car before taking the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway without her knowledge. He then allegedly recorded her without her permission after asking her to drive. According to the woman, the driver repeatedly tried to harass her throughout the trip, but she resisted and called the highway police emergency number.

The driver was stopped by the highway patrol, who subsequently turned him over to the Toba Tek Singh police. The driver was revealed to be a young officer from Sialkot working for a national security organisation.

The reason the security official drove an online taxi from Sialkot to Lahore to pick up the complaint is unknown. The police have reported the driver in a First Information Report (FIR) based on the woman’s allegations.
