The National Curriculum for Grades 9 through 12 was approved by provincial representatives from all throughout Pakistan, marking an important turning point for the National Curriculum Council (NCC) Secretariat.
This is the first time in Pakistan’s history that a national core curriculum, covering Early Childhood Education and Grades 1 through 12, has been finalised.

After the third Inter Provincial Curriculum Workshop, which was successful in its goal of finalising the curriculum for all core topics for Grades 9–12, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, english, urdu, islamiat, Pakistan studies, and computer science, was completed.
Rana Tanveer Hussain, the federal minister of education and professional training, visited the NCC Secretariat and personally held in-depth discussions with the official provincial/area experts in the committee for each subject to review the progress and ensure that the curriculum is tailored to the needs of all students and stakeholders.
To collect feedback from all regions of Pakistan, the NCC Secretariat engaged in broad engagements around the nation, including Inter-Provincial Curriculum Workshops and Regional Curriculum Workshops in Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Balochistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
A platform for written comments from the general public was also provided by a feedback portal on the NCC website. In order to ensure a collaborative approach to curriculum change, representatives from the public and commercial sectors, nonprofit groups, and madrassas were also included in the input process.
This significant accomplishment demonstrates the NCC Secretariat’s dedication to developing an open, inclusive curriculum that meets the needs and aspirations of all students throughout Pakistan. It is a significant step towards a better future for all of the nation’s kids.
