In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a man has been sued by his ex-wife for using her two cars to commit traffic infractions costing AED 80,830.
The woman asked the judge to add the fines to the traffic file for her ex-husband. She said that he drove those cars while they were still married and neglected to pay the fees when they were divorced.
The woman provided copies of the vehicle registration licences and the traffic tickets associated with the two cars as evidence in court.
The Abu Dhabi Family and Civil Administrative Claims Court ruled that the fines should be added to her ex-driving husband’s file. The man was also ordered by the court to cover his ex-legal wife’s costs.
Police investigated the incident and discovered that the man had used the woman’s two automobiles to commit several traffic offences.
