English Teacher Job Description
Jumeirah College is a GEMS Premium Secondary School that follows the National Curriculum for England, offering a comprehensive range of GCSE and A-level courses. Our vibrant student community consists of over 1,100 learners from more than 62 nationalities. The College has consistently been rated Outstanding in inspections. Despite being non-selective at admission, our students achieve remarkable academic results, comparable to the top schools in the UK. In 2024, over 98% of GCSE grades were 9-4, with 27% being 9. Job Description
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of English to join our College. English is the most popular A-level subject here, with 18 groups across the cohort, making this a fantastic opportunity to teach English at an advanced level. With outstanding student behavior and strong student-teacher relationships, teachers can focus on delivering high-quality lessons to highly motivated learners.
The successful candidate will join an excellent department. In 2023, results were outstanding, with over 99% of students achieving grades 9-4 in GCSE English Language and Literature. At A-level, 67% of students in English Language achieved A*–B, with 17% earning A*/A. In English Literature, 67% also achieved A*–B, with 33% obtaining A*/A.

Qualifications & Experience:
A B.Ed. or a degree with a PGCE/PGDE (or equivalent) and exceptional subject knowledge are required. A minimum of two years’ experience teaching the National Curriculum for England is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching both English Language and Media Studies up to A Level.
