– Head of Pastoral Care (think: school parent, but with paperwork)
– SEN Teacher (Special Educational Needs — aka the superheroes of education)
– Head of Assessment / Head of Learning and Teaching (double whammy)
– Art Teacher (where the paint never comes out of your clothes)
– Music Teacher (if you can survive recorder season, you’re golden)

What they want:

– Bachelor’s in education or something close (if you’re gunning for a big-deal role, a Master’s wouldn’t hurt)
– At least 3 years working in a British curriculum school — so, you know what a “house point” is and how to say “maths” instead of “math.”
– If you’re eyeing the head gigs, you’ve gotta show some leadership chops, plus be able to talk to people without putting them to sleep, and actually keep things organized (good luck).
– Someone who actually likes kids and doesn’t just say it in interviews.
– You should know your way around UK assessment stuff and all those endless improvement frameworks.
