Accountant Job Description

Job Description

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Prepare supplier payments.
  • Conduct inter-company reconciliations.
  • Update bank and cash transactions in the accounting records and prepare reconciliations.
  • Assist in processing balance sheets and other financial statements in accordance with legal and company accounting guidelines.
  • Review expenses and receivables records as assigned.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy and immediate availability when needed.
  • Assist senior accountants in preparing and submitting weekly and monthly reports.
  • Support senior accountants in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings.
  • Contribute to other accounting projects as required.
  • Manage petty cash.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT laws and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
