Marriott International
IT Coordinator Jobs
IT Coordinator Gig at Marriott (W Dubai – The Palm)
Location?
That super fancy Palm in Dubai. Not remote, so yeah, you gotta actually show up.
What You’ll Actually Do
– Stick to the rules (no, seriously, don’t steal the stapler).
– Help out guests when their tech acts up, which, let’s be honest, is probably every other day.
– Talk to coworkers through whatever device is working at the moment.
– Play tech detective—hunt down issues with computers, networks, Wi-Fi… even that one printer everyone hates.
– If it’s too big to fix, call in the pros (aka vendors or techs).
– Smack error messages into submission or just rage-quit programs as needed.
– Punch in commands, push buttons, look busy.
– Check out, tinker with, and run diagnostics on all the tech stuff.
– Keep tabs on every gadget in the building—don’t lose any!
– Babysit the network, servers, and all the software nonsense.
– Make sure everyone can actually, you know, communicate online.
– Swap out old hardware, update software, and make sure the website doesn’t crash (fingers crossed).
– Back up the systems so nothing goes *poof*.
– Be the IT superhero for all the non-tech people (you know the type).
– Set up and delete user accounts. Reset passwords when Karen forgets hers again.
– Plug in computers, run cables, set up docks, and try not to trip over wires.
– Actually read the manuals. Or at least pretend to.
– Teach folks not to leak sensitive info all over the internet.
– Move stuff around, but nothing heavier than, like, a small dog (10 lbs max).
– Do whatever else your boss dreams up for you.
What You Need:
– High school diploma or G.E.D. (No PhD required, thank God).
– At least a year of doing something similar.
– No, you don’t need to boss anyone around.
– No special licenses or certifications—just don’t break stuff.
If you can juggle all that
And you don’t freak out every time the Wi-Fi throws a tantrum—you’ll do just fine.
