Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Habitat Operator to join our team. The Habitat Operator will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and managing habitat systems used in offshore or confined space environments. This position requires a solid understanding of habitat technology, strict adherence to safety protocols, and strong teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and maintain habitat systems for welding, cutting, and other maintenance tasks in offshore or confined space environments.
Ensure the safety and functionality of habitat enclosures, providing a controlled environment for personnel and equipment.
Monitor atmospheric conditions inside the habitat, such as temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels, to meet safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections and tests of habitat systems and components to detect and address any issues or deficiencies.
Collaborate with project teams and contractors to plan and execute habitat operations in line with project timelines and requirements.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on habitat equipment, including seals, gaskets, ventilation systems, and structural elements.
Follow safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with confined space entry procedures.
Document work activities, such as maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment performance data.
Provide training and guidance to team members and contractors on habitat operations and safety protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
Mechanical diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in habitat operations or a related field is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in similar roles.
Demonstrated experience as a habitat operator or in a similar position within industrial environments.
Proficient knowledge of habitat systems, including pressurized enclosures, gas supply systems, and environmental monitoring equipment.
Familiarity with welding and cutting processes conducted inside habitat enclosures is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to effectively diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
