As a Family Medicine Specialist at Al Abeer Medical Centre, you would offer whole treatment for people and families spanning all age groups. In a primary care setting, your job is diagnosing, treating, and avoiding a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical problems.

You will be patients’ first point of contact looking medical help. Always putting long-term health and prevention first, your responsibilities include assessing symptoms, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing drugs, and arranging specialist referrals when required.

The management of ongoing medical problems: A large portion of your duties will be managing ongoing medical problems such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease. You will be working towards individualized plans of care for the patients you care for and will be following the patients and speaking to them regularly about the ongoing state of their health that may include counseling regarding lifestyle modifications.

Preventive health care: You will be viewed as reasonably proactive and engaged in health education, immunizations, screening tests, and wellness check-ups. Preventive healthcare is very important to the overall health of the population, and it plays a significant role in reducing hospitalizations of patients.

Family and Community Health: You will offer continuous care managing the healthcare needs of whole families from infants to the elderly. Understanding patients’ specific health backgrounds and demands depends on your capacity to develop long-term relationships with them.
