Job Description

Estimating Projects: Generating precise cost estimates for joinery projects (furniture, cabinetry, and fit-out projects), an estimator is in charge. To generate a thorough proposal, budget, and timeline for the project, the Estimator will evaluate technical drawings, specifications, and client needs.
Managing the tender paperwork, creating the bid, and making sure all submitted proposals live up to customer demands and the company’s profit targets fall under the Estimator’s responsibility. The Estimator will gather current material and labor pricing in close collaboration with internal departments, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Regarding the project specifications, prices, and assistance discussions, the Estimator will engage with clients, architects, and contractors. Winning the project depends on the Estimator’s professionalism and level of client trust.

Technical Analysis and Cost Management: You will closely examine joinery projects to ensure appropriate choices are made in material, finishes, and design, in accordance with project requirements. You will show that you can identify situations that might produce savings for both the customer and firm, while standing by quality.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the engineering and design teams to compare technical drawings to identified estimates as part of your position. Analyzing BOQs and CAD documents will help to ensure the estimates are realistic and achievable while the project progresses.

You will also need to maintain up-to-date records of quotes, rates provided by suppliers, and tenders. Your ongoing tasks will include creating reports regarding cost comparisons, tracking materials, and reporting to management about estimating.
