Nair Systems is hunting for a Data Protection Officer—the real deal, not someone who just likes to say “cybersecurity” at dinner parties. If you’re all about keeping data locked down tighter than your grandma’s secret cookie recipe, keep reading.

What you gotta bring to the party:

– Bachelor’s degree in InfoSec, Computer Science, or something that actually makes sense for this gig.
– At least a decade (yeah, 10+ years) of real, hands-on experience in data governance, compliance, or security. If you’ve done it in finance or another super-regulated industry, even better.
– You’ve actually built data governance frameworks, not just read about them on LinkedIn.
– You know the drill with regulators and can charm them (or at least not make them angry).
– You’ve led teams—across compliance, risk, IT, operations—the whole shebang. Not just in theory, but for real data protection stuff.
– You’ve been in the trenches with data breaches, incident management, and all the fun that comes with regulatory reporting.
– You’ve run training and awareness sessions, so you can explain “don’t click that link” without putting people to sleep.
– You’ve dealt with third-party vendors and actually made them follow the rules.
– Audits and external assessments? You’ve got war stories.
– You actually get data privacy laws, inside and out.
– You can whip up complex data protection strategies and make execs listen to you (even the ones who think GDPR is a brand of yogurt).
– Leadership and communication? You’ve got both. You can break down risks and vulnerabilities without making people run for the exits.
– Running a team of security folks is second nature, and you play nice with IT, legal, and compliance.
– You know your way around Qatar Central Bank (QCB) requirements, Qatar Data Privacy Law, GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001/27701, all that jazz.

– You’re not lost when someone mentions DAMA-DMBOK, ISO 15489, or data mapping.
– Encryption, secure data transfer, and security controls—yeah, you actually know what these mean.
– You’ve handled Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA, DPIA) like a pro.
– Risk management (ISO 31000, NIST CSF)? Been there, done that.
– Business continuity, disaster recovery, backups—you know why they matter and how to do them right.

Timing: Need you on board in 2 weeks, max a month. If you’re still “thinking about it” after that, probably not gonna work.
