Notwithstanding its economic difficulties, Pakistan’s “Own Money” tradition is still strong. According to a recent report, some customers are paying up to Rs. 365,000 more to receive the Suzuki Alto right away.
Alto is reportedly going for up to Rs. 3.3 million, according to Autojournal.pk. The official Manufacturer’s Recommended Retail Price (MSRP) for the little hatchback is just over Rs. 2.93 million, which is worth noticing.
Even in the used car market in Pakistan, the Alto is the most popular vehicle. It is plausible to presume that individuals are purchasing these vehicles with the intention of illegally increasing their asking prices above Rs. 365,000.
Suzuki Retains Strength
Suzuki experienced a significant Month on Month (MoM) increase of 476% in total sales in March, selling more than 5,600 units.
The Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has not yet released the actual numbers for auto sales. As a result, it is currently uncertain how the aforementioned sales data were broken down.
Although this suggests a general industry recovery, it also demonstrates that there is still a market for new cars despite significant price increases and delivery delays.
