The security General Manager (GM) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been fired after he was found guilty of sexually harassing a female employee. The decision was made public by the Chief Ombudsman, who had looked into the PIA employee’s complaint of harassment.
She was employed by the PIA Vigilance and Security Department at the time the female employee made a charge of harassment against the GM.
The complaint was reported to the airline’s women’s protection committee in 2019 after PIA CEO Arshad Malik became aware of it. He gave the committee instructions to investigate the matter and deliver a thorough report as soon as possible.
The committee recommended that the GM be fired after the investigation was over, and the new PIA administration followed their advice
The airline’s spokesperson, Mashood Tajwar, stated that the committee’s recommendations will be meticulously carried out and that any complaints from female employees would be appropriately addressed.
