Star The first T20I match between Pakistan and New Zealand was won by Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf, who gave thanks to Zaman Khan and Shaheen Afridi. The match was played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The right-arm bowler had a stellar comeback, taking four wickets and allowing just 18 runs in 3.3 overs to propel the home team to an easy 88-run victory.

Haris claimed in a post-game news conference that Shaheen Afridi and Zaman’s outstanding powerplay bowling allowed him to bowl unencumbered in the middle overs.

The pacer, who was born in Rawalpindi, continued by saying that early wickets when defending the score always help the bowlers’ confidence and put a lot of pressure on the opposition.

“I was playing for Pakistan for the first time in a very long time, therefore it was crucial for me to put up this performance. I tried to bowl stump-to-stump on this pitch, says Haris Rauf.

The 29-year-old stated after being named Man of the Match for his efforts, “Your role gets defined a lot more when you have such a good bowling attack.”

Notably, the second T20I will feature a match between the Men in Green and the Kiwis, with the third game taking place at the legendary location on Monday, April 17.
