Fully-Funded Scholarships for Pakistanis in UK Universities are Announced by the British Council

The latest campaign to advance gender equality in STEM professions has been unveiled by the British Council Pakistan.

The Council has announced more than 100 scholarships for women from Asia and the Americas who wish to study for a Master’s degree in the UK.

The grants would aid female students who want to study science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

48 of the 100 available scholarships are set aside for female STEM researchers from Pakistan and other South Asian nations.

There will be no restriction on the number of winners from any one nation, and the scholarships will be given out based solely on merit.

According to the British Council Pakistan, this decision will open up new job opportunities for brilliant women in the STEM fields.

Selected women will be able to learn from experts in the prominent STEM sectors in the UK thanks to the scholarships.

They will therefore be better able to support research and innovation in their own nation as a result.

21 UK universities are working together to offer the scholarship programme.

A fully paid Master’s degree or an Early Academic Fellowship at a UK university will be made available to scholars. The grant pays for tuition, a stipend, travel expenses, visa fees, health insurance premiums, specialised support for moms, and English language instruction.

Additionally, the scholarship programme offers a venue for lifelong ties to the UK through active participation in the alumni network.

It also intends to motivate the subsequent generation of female STEM professionals. 115 scholars from all over the world were chosen for the most recent cohort, including 15 women scholars from Pakistan.

Amir Ramzan, the Country Director of the British Council Pakistan, asserts that the UK has a well-known, truly global higher education sector. These scholarships will provide gifted women the chance to seize a once-in-a-lifetime chance to advance their careers in their preferred STEM professions and then use the experience to do more good when they get back home.

Women with dependents are eligible for the award and will receive additional assistance.

Depending on the university, the application date is from March to May 2023. Checking specific university deadlines is advised for students.
