The draught Artificial Intelligence Policy has been created by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT).

According to sources, Syed Amin-ul-Haque, the federal minister for information technology and telecommunication, has given his approval to the Artificial Intelligence Policy’s initial draught.

The policy’s initial draught, according to the sources, was created by specialists and ministry employees. The draught of the ministry’s AI policy will be posted online. The public will be made aware of the draught policy, and all stakeholders will be asked for their feedback.

The government intends to invest in the growth and adoption of this industry to ensure its benefits for the economy, said MoITT sources, which is why an AI strategy is being developed. Through the policy, the government also hopes to give the private sector resources so that it can make investments in the AI industry.

According to ministry representatives, encouraging young people to enrol in courses in Big Data, Machine Learning, Robotics, and other related fields is necessary for the development of the AI sector. In order to encourage educational institutions in this direction, the policy will include actions.
