The Shalimar Express will resume service between Karachi and Lahore in May 2023, according to Pakistan Railways.

Federal Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique presided over the meeting on Saturday at the Pakistan Railways headquarters. The meeting also covered the schedule for maintaining and modernising a number of other trains to offer passengers the optimum travel conveniences.

The group decided to update Pak Business Express and Karakoram Express in the same way that Green Line Express has been upgraded. The Minister gave the administration the go-ahead to implement the required measures in this regard.

At the meeting, other business strategies to boost the Railways’ revenue were also addressed, including the utilisation of Railways land to produce income. The panel also thoroughly explored several ideas for lowering the budget for the ML-1 project.

The Minister recently instructed pertinent departments to make sure that workers receive their paychecks before Eid ul-Fitr. According to a media report, the authorities were given orders to distribute the money by April 18.

The Minister also gave the department instructions to enhance the Iftar provisions on the Islamabad-Karachi Green Line Railway.
