The Capital Development Authority (CDA) gave its blessing for the construction of a football stadium in Islamabad, the federal capital, at a high-level meeting.

At the CDA headquarters, the sixth board meeting of the year was presided over by CDA Chairman Captain (Retd), Noor ul Amin Mengal.

The official claims that the authority has given the go-ahead for numerous large-scale projects, including the construction of an ultramodern football stadium and the Islamabad Bus Terminal.

The development of a cricket and football stadium in the federal capital was reportedly the main item on the agenda for the board meeting, according to earlier media reports.

Additionally, it was revealed that two enormous 20-acre locations close to the Motorway (MI) and Kuri had been suggested for these sports venues.

It’s important to remember that the CDA and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) previously worked together in 2012 to build a cutting-edge cricket stadium.

When the Supreme Court intervened and decided to abandon the Shakarparian location since it was within a national park region, the project suffered a setback in 2018.

Imran Khan, the former cricketer and current prime minister, gave former PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani the order to build a modern cricket stadium in the nation’s capital in 2021.
